Derechos, Tornados and Beyond! Summer Weather Camp with Meteorologist Brian Karstens

Time: 1-4 pm for 3-day camps and 1-3 pm for 1-day camp

Cost: 3-day class $90 for first child. $80 for each additional sibling; 1-day class $20 for first child, $15 for each additional sibling

Location: All classes will be held at Vineyard Church, 400 N Main Ave (lower level of the Gourley Building)

Join us as we explore the science behind summer weather with meteorologist Brian Karstens. Brian has been forecasting the weather here for over 20 years, and will explain the science behind last summer's derechos and the 2019 Sioux Falls tornadoes. We will also learn about severe weather safety, lighting, hail, floods and more, with hands on weather activities and experiments including building a model tornado!  Materials will be provided. This camp will be geared toward children ages 8-14. There are five camp dates available to choose from. We will require a minimum of six enrolled students to hold each camp. A parent is welcome to attend class with their child (no younger sibling unless enrolled please).
